Having text talk ignore certain words

Sorry if this is basic or even not possible but is there a way to have text talk ignore certain words? For example if I want to add the feminine/masculine form as a note on the flashcard itself but not have it read out. I’m finding that on occasion when I do multiple choice for say ‘a’ then I’m given both the feminine and masculine words as 2 of the choices. So it’s 50/50.

As for text to speech, there are two ways to ignore text:
1) Ignore text in ( ) - If this option is turned on, text in parenthesis will be ignored when spoken. Example: (el) carro
2) Alternative TTS text - If on, text in brackets [] will be used for text and not shown on flashcard. For example: el carro [carro]
These options are in the text-to-speech screen (settings icon)

I'm not sure how this will affect your multiple choice "50/50" issue though. See if the above helps, and if you still have issues, let me know.
