Is there possible to have two accounts on the same phone ?

Postby CassandraP » Sun Aug 04, 2024 12:40 am

Hello !

First of all, thank you for creating this app.
I used it sometimes ago for my studies and did come back now for learning a new language.

I have some questions :
- is it possible to have multiples accounts ? My main problem is that I have as a legacy of my studies (and that I still use like a database sometime) about 300 decks. I did put everything in a folder but I would prefer to have a true separation between my account for studying and my account for langage learning (this is optional because this doesn't prevent me to study).
- I wanted to know if you have a project to put a max limit of set for the mode of studying short term goal ?

And generally, if you are working on something on the app !
It is just so great, the best app I have the pleasure to use haha.

Thank you for creating it !

Hi Cassandra,

I'm so sorry for the slow reply.

The app does not generally have any account associated with it. You can create an account to use the app's Sync feature, or to use the Shared Library, but otherwise, the app doesn't have an account. There would be no way to have a clear separation of your flashcards within a single device (using Flashcards Deluxe). You can create folders and put different subjects into different folders.

300 decks? I generally recommend to have fewer, larger decks. You can use Category 1 to assign a category to each card for filtering. You would generally create and maintain your deck(s) in a spreadsheet, and use a Category 1 column to do this. Each deck is a single Excel or text file when importing. But it seems you have a system already in place that you use.

"I wanted to know if you have a project to put a max limit of set for the mode of studying short term goal ?" I'm not sure I understand. A "set" in my app is a group of cards that are due to be studied. There is no setting for a max number of cards in a set. But there are some ways to limit the number of cards that are actively being studied at a time. Deck Options > Cards to Study. You can filter on Category for example, if you use those. You can set a "Card Range", and only cards in those range will be active to study.

I don't have anything in particular I'm working on with the app. I've been working on a "Flashcards Deluxe 2" (starting from scratch), but not sure if this will ever get released.

Thank you for the reply !
I think my biggest problem is that I don't work enough with categories.
I kind of knew that I got too much deck but was too lazy to merge them in the excel as this was a lot of work haha.
I finally did it after your answer, the 340 decks became 11 ! Way less crowded now.

For the study mode, same here, was trying to use it the wrong way for lazies reasons. I use the spaced repetition now which is much more suited for my purpose.

I really hope to see one day the arrival of flashcard deluxe II but thank you for already creating the first one which is wonderful !!

11 decks + spaced repetition... sounds good!

Thank you.
