Multiple choice

Multiple choice

Postby kraemder » Sat Oct 01, 2011 1:33 am

I'm pretty excited about this update. Tried it and the choices are showing -every- side of the card. I have a 3 sided deck so it lists all three. Since it shows every side it's not testing me at all. I tried it with a different set and it didn't show every side but gave choices from the opposite side of 4 cards as expected. I haven't trouble shooted this yet since it's late.

Bah I should have waited till morning. I forgot I had setup the card layout to show all 3 sides for side 2. Works great for flashcard mode. Not so much for multiple choice mode.

Yeah, glad you figured it out. For the choices, it will show whatever is shown on "side 2" of a normal card.

I'm having fun with this. I'm curious if there's a "best" way to have it aid learning. But anyway, if I haven't seen a card before and don't want to guess it right I'd like to just press wrong and see the correct answer and go on. I tried pressing the X on the bottom left but it just moves onto the next card and oddly on the next card it highlights the correct choice and it highlights one of the wrong answers as if I had chosen it. I have it set to move on automatically to the next screen on a wrong answer.

Ha, that's odd behavior. Well, I didn't plan a user tapping the correct or wrong button. I think I just need to disable them.
Most people don't have those buttons shown.

You raise a valid point though, and I'm not sure how I want to deal with a user just wanting to see the answer and marking it wrong. The way to do it now would be to guess, and if it's right, swipe back and chose another to mark it wrong. Not efficient. I'll see what I can come up with.

Perhaps the following could be done: tapping on the question itself (instead of the answer) will turn the card as in non-multi-choice-mode. And that will count for wrong. Tapping again will show question and choices but no correct is possible anymore. Also swipe to left side to show next card/question to continue multic choice should be possible.

You can currently swipe back to go to the previous question. I will do something related to this or what you mentioned... like the ability to swipe down to answer wrong, which would show the correct answer.
