Did external control changed?

Did external control changed?

Postby koyang2e » Wed May 16, 2018 4:46 am

It was "wasd" or "jikl" etc. as far as i know, but I found out now it's ijkl, and wasdx etc.
is it changed or my phone is somewhat wrong?
I think it would be much easier if there's option to change external input setting.

Hi,

Yeah, I did change the keys. On some devices (newer Android?), the space wasn't working to flip the card, so I changed the flip to "s" or "k", and therefore moved the "wrong" answer key down. Hopefully it's not too big a deal for you. Agreed, customizable keys would be nice, but it won't happen anytime soon due to time constraints. Sorry about that.

Hi Ernie,

I landed here because on my iPad Pro, the right and wrong keys for the external keyboard seem to be turned around. I have right mapped to right swipe and wrong mapped to left swipe. The same goes for tapping, tapping left is wrong, and tapping right is right.

However, the cursor keys A,S and J,L do the opposite. If I press A it is right, although this is the left of the keys and the J key behaves similar, as does the left cursor key.

Now this is not hard-coded because if I swap them in the settings, the keyboard behaviour changes as well. If there'd be a configuration option, then I could fix this, but currently consider this a bug report ;-)

It's not a big deal, since I mostly use the iPhone version and swipe. As I am using Flashcard Deluxe now for over 10 years, I am not an unsatisfied customer.

Thanks for the best app on the store.

jmfrank63,

Maybe the problem is this...
"Swipe left" is the same as hitting RIGHT arrow on keyboard. I know this seems confusing.
With a "swipe left", you are pushing the card left and going to the next card to the right.
A right-arrow tap goes to the next card to the right.
I think this makes sense as a logical use of controls (ignoring the english terminology)
These are the "standard" controls. Do you still have an issue?
