Changig the flashcard-papertype

Changig the flashcard-papertype

Postby rakimedos » Wed Oct 23, 2019 2:11 pm

Hey there,

I am new with this awesome app and I wanted to change the Flashcard-Paperstyle, means from blanc I want to get lined/quad paper for writing and drawing on it.
I think this function is included and I am just blind, hope someone here can help me.

Thanks in advance!

Hi rakimedos,

I assume you found "Card Theme" in Global Options, correct?
If you expand "Paper", you'll see 3 options.
Tap "Edit" then tap on of these, for example Paper - Clear

If you want a lined background, you'll need to create a picture for this ahead of time. You'll want to make it generally match your screen size so the picture doesn't get distorted too much.

Tap "Background" , then "Picture", the then + to add a new picture...
You'll want the background color to generally be clear (no opacity)

Above the background is the "card". You can instead add a background image to this part by tapping "Card Colors", then "Picture". Again, make sure your side colors are clear if you do this.

If this doesn't answer your question, let me know.

I had exactly the same question. However, I don't want to change the background it globally but on a per card / per side basis. My use case: I have a quiz for musical notes and would like to draw the appropriate note on a musical staff and in another case on a tabulature, which are two different layouts. Is that possible?

Hi rata,

No, the card theme is on a per-deck basis.

In your case, you might try including a picture in each of your cards. You'd want to do this outside of the app, for example:

Text 1 | Picture 1 | Text 2 | Picture 2
question | blank staff.jpg | answer | answer.jpg
question | blank tab.jpg | answer | answer.jpg

| = new column or tab

You can then using the "Drawing" feature to draw over. You might need to set drawing to full screen to cover picture.
