What is the most efficient way to record audio files for my cards? What audio files types are acceptable?

One option is to add sound from within the app. You can try it out to see if it works for you. This will create .caf files, which can be exported back to your PC.

Personally, I use a free program called Audacity on my PC to create .m4a files, then use these in my flashcards. It's a little bit of a pain, but I can create better quality sound files (levelize sound) than using in-app recording. Once you make the sound files, you need to add the file name to your flashcard text and transfer it all through my upload page (or put them on your own server). There 's a little bit of a learning curve.

The following sound formats are supported: mp3, aac, ac3, mp4, m4a, aiff, aifc, caf

I don't really know what to recommend for recording audio, but try in app and/or using some external recording tool to see what works best for you.
