cards flickering/changing when going to next card

I have been using this app for a long time and recently it is no longer working correctly.
when I amin spaced repetition and move to the next card , it seems that a random card is displayed or a very brief time (less than 100ms) and then it switches to another card.
The strnage thins is that the first few cards (around 5 ) work ok, but then the flickering/chaing becomes noticeable and makes the app unusable.
I have the same behaviour when I move to multiple choice mode.
Is it possible that I made a mistake in some settings? Is there a way to reset all settings without losing state of the cards?
I am using the Pixel 6 mobile phone.
