You can do everything in a text file. When you paste from Excel to a text box, it just put tabs between items. You just do this yourself in a text file. The columns in the original import format are:
side 1 {tab} side 2 {tab} side 3 {tab} category 1 {tab} category 2

So if you are using just 2 sides, enter something like:

book {tab} libra {tab} {tab} Chapter 1

(note the two tabs together)

Let me know if you still have questions with this.

Create Categories from text file (instead than excel)

hi,

I'm just curious, is there a way to create categories within a deck using some kind of command if working with txt files? (i prefer working with txt files vs excel-I see that you can create a category column in excel to accomplish this).

I know you can do it in the app, but that seems tedious..I'd rather scan my questions & pick & choose all at once which I want to put in a category.

thanks!
