I've been self-learning French for almost 7 years and have tried many flashcard apps. Flashcards Deluxe blows all the others away. As a recovering database programmer I am super impressed with the power and flexibility with this app. Every time I think "I wish this app would do [whatever}" I find out it does, like being able to import from my iCloud Drive which is the method I prefer. The ability to update files is more than worth the price of this app.
