Tapping + in the app will always create a new deck. To update an existing one, tap Edit then the deck then download.

It sounds like you are transferring through my website. Exporting with statistics before you update a deck is a good idea in case anything goes wrong. What you do is... after updating your deck, upload to my server using the same deck code as your original deck. In the app, tap Edit, the deck, verify that the deck is the same, then tap "Download" and "Replace All Cards". Your deck will now look like the text file you just uploaded. The only outstanding issue is statistics, which should get merged with your new flashcards. If your new uploaded set has statistics, the app will ask you which version of the statistics you want to keep, the original stats on the device or the stats from the new text file. I hope this helps.

App treats edited txt file as new deck

Yesterday I exported my deck, opened it in excel, and added several new words. I was careful not to disturb the statistical data. I then saved it as a tab-delimited text file, but I used a different name because I didn't want to risk losing my statistics on the original file. I then uploaded the renamed file and opened it in the app, but the app treats it as a brand new file, even though all the original statistics are intact. Is this because I renamed it? Is it possible to export a deck, add words in excel, save as a txt file, upload to server, and continue as if nothing changed (except for the new words added)? Thank you for your help. PS -- I love this program!
