Hi Chris,
I'm sorry for the really slow reply.
At least one card needs to match between old and new cards. The app will match by looking for a unique match on Text 1 or Text 2 or Text1+Text2. If a unique match can be found then then statistics will be copied from old to new cards.
Based on the old and new data, do you see how the app would not be able to match up cards? For all new cards that couldn't be matched matched with an old card, statistics will be lost.
What you could do is export, with statistics, and update that list, and then add back as a new deck, since you'll have statistics with those cards.
But generally, old and new cards will match up well enough to carry statistics forwards. But if you are only using Text 1, and say you updated all the Text 1 values, then there won't be any matches anymore. The export with statistics solution would be an option.
You can also add an ID column that you fill out, which is a unique number identifying each record. In this case, for future updates, the app will use this to match up old and new cards, so you can update Text 1 and the app will still because to carry statistics forward by matching with ID.
