I submitted a new Mac version that should help. In the new version, if there's a picture in spelling mode, more space is given for the picture. Hopefully it helps.

It should be available within a couple days.

sorry, i forgot to say that i am using Spelling mode. In normal mode everything is super. In spe!!ing mode, the spelling bar comes to the middle of the screen and picture stays above it and goes small.

There is no keyboard shortcut. You have to long-click on the picture to enter to "zoom". But I just did a test and I can't see a way to actual zoom in on the Mac.

Are your original pictures small? I tried a test adding a picture (max size 1024) from photo library and the picture took up most of the screen. Size seems appropriate.

There is a way to increase the picture size. It's a little tricky:
Deck Options > Card Layout
Select "Custom 1"
Tap Edit, Custom 1
Tap Side 1 -> 2 (if your show side first is Side 1)
Tap Side the picture is on
Tap "Picture" at bottom
Tap Size
Change Size to say 1.5. That should make picture 1.5x as big.

Is there a shortcut for zooming into picture? I use FD on macbook air and images look small so i usually hold on images to zoom.
